Two-year-olds say funny things, and there's no way I'll ever remember them all, so I think I'll just start posting some of the random things Mabes says that make me giggle. Like the other day, she was admiring Dave's feet. She patted them and said, "I like your toes, daddy." For a guy, Dave does have quite nice feet. But they're still feet. It's nice to know that Mabes likes them.
She's also been really good about expressing gratitude, though it comes out, "Fank you!" Not so good at please, but great at fank you. "Fank you for go to playground, mommy!" "Fank you for reading Busytown, daddy!" We have a nightly ritual that involves dancing, and at the end one night, she patted my leg and said, "Fank you for dancing with me, mommy. I like your booty." Thanks, Mabes.
And she loves when Dave goes a couple of days without shaving. Her reaction to it is very similar to when Jeff acts like a monkey. Quiet observation, and then for whatever reason, she decides she needs to take a bite. With Jeff as a monkey, she'd try to eat his nose. With Dave and his unshaven-ness, she goes for his chin. The other day we were driving home and she was stroking her own chin, and announced, "Oooooh-wee! I'm scruffy! I need to shave my chin!"
