Vow of Silence

We're on Snow/Ice Day #3 and going a bit stir crazy. Sure, we go outside and play in the snow, but that doesn't last too long, since Mabes is "allergic to the cold." And Mabes...well, she has to get her words out. And she talks a lot. Nonstop, really. What, I've said this before, you say? Some days, the amount she can talk still surprises me.

After constantly interrupting us last night during dinner (seriously, she has a comment for everything!) and repeatedly being told to wait for her turn to talk, she got mad when I told her my ears needed a break and said, "Fine! I'm never talking again!"

Now, I remember making those threats before, either to my mom, sister, or cousin. I usually lasted about an hour. So I was about to ask Dave to place his bet on how long Mabes' first vow of silence would last, but before I could, Mabes continued "Ever! Not until I'm all grown up. I won't talk when I'm 6, 7, 8...not until I'm a grown up or in college or sometime when I'm big! And you'll be sorry! Hey, Annabelle look at this jump rope! Oh, little baby look at me! A doo dah bah!..."

She continued with the gibberish/talking until bedtime, and then probably talked herself to sleep. Her silence lasted only the amount of time it takes her to inhale.

I love it... and can totally relate! I never REALLY committed to silence, because I just knew it wouldn't be possible. But I would talk about possibly doing it once in a while (: By the way, when I saw you on sunday I noticed how great you look. And then I read that you last 45 pounds this year - wowza! Amazing!

So funny! Will moves as much as Mabes talks. Constantly. Luckily, I don't have to respond to him when he's running in circles. Oh, by the way, I finally started that blog I've been talking about. ;)
