She was playing with her friend Ellie, trying to climb the tree, and kept saying, "It's a miracle!" Uh, Mabes? I'm not sure if she was referring to the tree itself or the way they were climbing on it--we think she thinks a miracle is something that's cool.
My friend Valerie took this and the picture of Mabes and Ellie.
After the egg hunt, Dave and Mabes went to Home Depot Saturday, then came home to dye eggs:
Annabelle wasn't so sure of it, and was quite happy to go back to her seat.
Easter dinner was fantastic, capped off by Dave's now signature dessert, Chocolate Delight. Mabes has for some time been telling me what a great cooker I am, and now thinks Dave is a culinary genius. She announced that both Mommy AND Daddy are great cookers.
Not Easter related, but I know I've been saying how much I love spring here, and I do. I really do. We've had several absolutely gorgeous days here, and it's been lovely. But I don't think I've ever been so happy for rain as I was today, as everything--cars, streets, buildings, our deck--has been coated by lovely yellow pollen. This is our deck last night:
I'm very happy that our deck is back to its normal brown color. Now that I've finished the girls' Easter/spring dresses (yay!), I can take them outside for pictures without worrying they'll turn yellow.
