Yikes

We had heard that, due to Ike, there could be gas shortages in the South. I didn't really think about it again until last Friday, when Costco was out. On Saturday, we noticed that several gas stations had bags over the pumps. By Monday, I got nervous, and even though I had a half tank, I filled up. Good thing--ever since then, you can tell which gas stations actually have gas by the ridiculously long line of cars stretching out in the streets. There's a gas station just around the corner that has gas, so it took me about 10 minutes longer to get back home this morning. And that explains all the honking and sirens I've heard since yesterday; cars are blocking traffic, police are trying to move it along, and despite hiring security guards to control traffic and line jumping, fights have broken out.

I think I'll be staying home for a while. The craziness should hopefully end tomorrow.

Oh my gosh, that's crazy! Our prices went up for a week or so, but that's about it. So are you just not driving anywhere unless you absolutely have to?!

We'll be fine--I have almost 3/4 of a tank, and no where I HAVE to go. They say we should be getting gas tomorrow, but they're canceling stuff at church, including the RS broadcast Saturday. I had to go out this afternoon and traffic around the gas station was nuts. Those people had to be waiting for hours.

So we're fine, but seeing those lines just makes me uneasy.
